Wireless Hub Installation

 

 

 

PCI Adapter Installation
Step 1. Turn off the power to your computer and all peripherals, and unplug the power cord from the wall socket
   
Step 2. Remove the computer cover, following the instructions in your computer’s manual

   
Step 3. Select a free PCI expansion slot (PCI slots are usually white; ISA slots are usually colored black and are longer) and remove the slot cover

   
Step 4. Carefully install the adapter in the PCI expansion slot by firmly pressing until the adapter is snugly seated. Be sure the adapter is fully home, then fasten the retaining bracket with the screw from the slot cover
   
Step 5. Replace the computer cover and reconnect any previously disconnected cables

   
Step 6. Screw the antenna into the CableFREE II PCI adapter

 

After installing the CableFREE II hardware, turn on your computer and begin installing the CableFREE II Driver software. Please select your Operating System:

  1. Windows 95
  2. Windows 98
  3. Windows ME
  4. Windows 2000
  5. Windows NT 4.0

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PCMCIA Card Installation
Step 1. Insert the PC Card into the PCMCIA slot of the computer with the 68-pin connector facing the slot and the label facing up

   
Step 2. Repeat the above procedure for other notebooks to be networked
 

After installing the CableFREE II hardware, turn on your computer and begin installing the CableREE II Driver software. Please select your Operating System:

  1. Windows 95
  2. Windows 98
  3. Windows ME
  4. Windows 2000

Wireless hub Installation
Step 1. To install the CableFREE II Wireless Hub with an Ethernet device (cable/DSL modem or Ethernet hub), simply connect the CableFREE II hub to the cable/DSL modem or Ethernet hub via a standard Ethernet network cable (supplied in the CableFREE II Wireless Hub package)

   
Step 2. Connect the power adapter to the CableFREE II hub and a power outlet.
Note:
Use only the power adapter included in the package. Other types of power adapter may damage the CableFREE II hub.
 
Step 3. Turn on the power. The POST LED indicator will blink green during the self-test. If the test is successful, the LED will turn to a steady green, if not, it will turn to a steady
red
 

After installing the CableFREE II wireless hub, make sure that you enter the SSID or the ID of the wireless hub found on the bottom of the unit into your CableFREE II Utility. If you have not installed the CableFREE II Utility, please refer to the appropriate instructions for your Operating System:
