SOHOware ISA PnP Ethernet Adapter FAQ
[This FAQ page is applicable to the adapter model numbers ND5300 and ND5320. The ND5320 comes with the SOHOware Network Starter Kit (ND772T/A)].
Note: Many installation problems could be avoided by running the diagnostics program, which is supplied with the driver set disk. Also, the readme and nossetup files contain the latest information concerning installation. Please read these files carefully before attempting installation.
Q. I am having trouble installing the ND5300 card on my computer.
A. Make sure that the card is properly installed in the computer’s motherboard. Check to see that the card isseated properly and that it has a valid ethernet connection.
Q. My hardware is installed properly, but the card still isn't working.
A. Look in Windows 95 Device Manager to see if the drivers are installed properly. To do this, select My Computer Control Panel > System > Device Manager. On this page, you should see a listing for Network Adapters. In the Network Adapters category, you should see a listing for the ND5300 card (or it may be listed as an NE2000 compatible). If you see a yellow mark with an exclamation point next to the driver listing, there is a problem with the driver. It may be a resource conflict orsome other problem that occurred during installation. To resolve this problem first go to the Resource Matching Guide and follow the steps. If you have already done this and still have the problem, you may need to remove the driver and reinstall it. Instructions for this are contained in the documentation.
