SOHOware PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter
Note: This FAQ applies to the adapter model numbers ND5100-E, ND5120-E, ND5100, and ND5120. Be sure to follow all documentation and instructions precisely, as this will help prevent many problems.
Problem: My SOHOware PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter will not install properly. The driver shows a yellow exclamation mark next to it under "Device Manager."

Solution: This problem may have various causes. To begin troubleshooting, look under Device Manager (Control Panel > System) and check under the "Network Adapters" category to see if there is more than one instance of the ND5100 driver. If you see a driver labeled "NDIS" or "ODI," remove it as well as all drivers that are labeled "NDC ND5100". When prompted to reboot your computer, select "No". Check to see if there is a category labeled "Other Devices". If there is, look inside this category and remove any driver labeled "NDC Ethernet" or "NDC Credit Card Adapter". Before rebooting, remove the card from your PCMCIA socket. After the computer has booted up again, insert the card into the PCMCIA socket and begin the installation process again, according to the instruction manual.
