Plug-n-Print
NPS11T/A
Problem: When you try to add the network printer port, you cannot see the SOHOware Network Port under the "Other" category.

Check the following:

  1. The driver installation may not be complete. To resolve this, use the Add/Remove Programs utility in Control Panel to remove driver. After this, reboot the PC and reinstall the driver according to the instructions. Make sure that you follow the instructions exactly, as this will help to prevent many problems with installation.
  2. If you have tried the above procedure and still cannot find the NPS11T, try installing the print server from another PC. If the problem still occurs, you may have another problem with your print server.
  3. Under Windows 95: Even if you do not have any Netware servers on your network, install the "Client for Netware Networks" under Control Panel > Network > Configuration.
Netware server: If you have a Windows 95 Client of a Netware Network, bind the 802.2 frame type before the 802.3 frame type on the Netware server.
NT Server: If you have a Windows 95 client of a Windows NT server, add the NWLink IPX/SPX compatible transport protocol.
NPS13C/A
Problem: You have a pure Microsoft networking environment (no Netware servers), but you cannot print through the NPS13C.

Solution: Even though you have no Netware servers on your network, the NPS13C still broadcasts IPX/SPX packets at 3-4 second intervals. This will interfere with your TCP/IP printing function. To resolve this problem, first install the NPS13C utility in Windows 95 or Windows 3.1. After installing the NPS13C, refer to the NPS13C guide (page 10). After the "Auto Setup" is complete, go to the "Manual Setup". Modify the last parameter, the print server mode, and set it to "UNIX only".
