The ideal long range Ethernet (LRE) solution for MDUs

The SOHOware ENV1200 is a 12-port intelligent switch with business class VLAN, flow control and IP Telephony features. Administrators can control bandwidth allocation for each port to manage network performance, and support service level and application requirements. The robust and versatile feature set of the ENV1200 presents a cost effective way to meet the service demands of MDU/MTU and hospitality networks, eliminating the need for Ethernet cabling by utilizing existing telephony wiring. Unlike Ethernet, the ENV1200 data signals utilize cable lengths over 4000 feet at Ethernet data rates (10Mbps). Available with the ENV0120 CPE modem, which creates a total long range Ethernet end-to-end solution

Extends Ethernet Over 4000 Feet:

Uses existing POTs wiring (Cat. 1, 2 or 3) to distribute Broadband services throughout a facility, at distances exceeding 4000 feet. This dramatically reduces installation costs and disruption time by combining data and voice on the same wiring infrastructure.

Security:
The Includes port based Virtual LAN (VLAN), which protects client security by eliminating the ability for one network user to see another through Microsoft Network Neighborhood. At the same time, VLAN prevents the generation of unnecessary broadcast packets. The VLAN function can be Enabled or Disabled as required.

Additional security is provided in the IP Address authorization feature, which provides management access control to the configuration utility of the ENV1200.

Bandwidth Management:
The Allows for port based allocation, with selection from eight bandwidth levels (64K, 128K, 256K, 512K, 1M, 4M, 10M, or Unlimited). System administrators or Service Providers may control bandwidth as required to support service levels within the network to maintain application integrity.
IP Management by Port:
To support service level assignment, each client may be assigned to a specific port as appropriate for the management of bandwidth allocation. ISPs and administrators can control IP address distribution, up to 8 concurrent users per port, enabling administrators or ISPs to provide tiered services within the network.
Service Enabling and Disabling:
Internet access control is manageable by port, remotely, so that ISPs can control service usage with minimum support costs. The access control feature allows or disallows pass through to the Internet
Remote Configuration:
The ENV1200 is accessible using a standard browser (via http) for local or remote management of configuration features. A password based login prevents unauthorized access to secure the settings. In addition, the IP Address Authorization function can be used to isolate access to a specific local client only.
SNMP:
In addition to browser access, the ENV1200 is remotely manageable using SNMP, to integrate management functions with Service Provider NMS. Both MIB2 and private MIB functionality are supported.
Available CPE Modem Device:
SOHOware complements the ENV1200 with a CPE located device, the ENV0120, which provides Ethernet and POTs connections for the end user location. Additional information may be found on the ENV0120 product page.
